The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4) is a compact and powerful System on Module (SoM) that brings the high performance of the Raspberry Pi 4 to industrial and embedded environments. Built around the Broadcom BCM2711 SoC — a 1.5 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A72 CPU with VideoCore VI GPU — the CM4 provides outstanding computational and multimedia performance for edge AI, IoT, and automation systems.

Unlike traditional single-board computers, the CM4 is designed for direct integration into custom carrier boards, providing developers with flexible I/O options while reducing system footprint. The module connects through dual 100-pin high-density board-to-board connectors, offering access to PCI Express, dual HDMI, dual camera and display interfaces, USB 2.0, and Gigabit Ethernet.

The CM4 is available in multiple configurations combining different memory and storage options — from 1GB to 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and 0GB (Lite) to 32GB onboard eMMC storage. Wireless models include dual-band 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 BLE, enabling versatile connectivity for modern IoT applications.

Supporting Linux (Raspberry Pi OS, Ubuntu Server, Yocto) and custom embedded OS builds, the CM4 is well-suited for integration into industrial automation systems, digital signage, robotics, machine vision, environmental monitoring, and smart edge controllers.

Optional accessories like the Compute Module 4 I/O Board simplify prototyping by providing all key ports — HDMI, USB, PCIe, and GPIO — for development and testing.
